The S&P 500 finished 2024 up 23.3%, posting the third-best election year on record. The S&P 500 has hit 57 all-time highs, the third-highest outcome this century and 5th in history.
Following a 24.2% gain in 2023, the S&P 500 now recorded the best two consecutive years of performance since 1997 and 1998. Back then annual returns were 31.0% and 26.7%.
