The Fed kept they rates unchanged in the first meeting of 2024
The Fed left its rates unchanged at 4.25%-4.50% o Wednesday as expected. This comes after three consecutive cuts last year by a total of 100 basis points.
As outlined on Wednesday, the central bank removed the reference that inflation is making progress towards the 2% target. Subsequently in the press conference, Fed Chair Jerome Powell was explaining the reasoning behind such a change.
